Job title

Consultant

Service

General surgery

Interests

I joined the Consultant team at St Bartholomew's Hospital in 2017. I trained in Cardiothoracic Surgery in specialist units across London and became a fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons in Cardiothoracic surgery in 2015. My specialist training has allowed me to achieve a high level of experience in both minimally invasive and complex open techniques.

Procedures performed

  • Minimally invasive thoracic surgery (VATS and Robotic)
  • Robotic thymectomy
  • Electromagnetic navigational bronchoscopy
  • Surgery for pleural disease
  • Mediastinal tumour resection
  • Endobronchial laser and stenting
  • Lung preservation surgery
  • Surgery for pneumothorax and COPD
  • Complex lung cancer surgery including chest wall resection

Interests

I have a particular interest in minimally invasive thoracic surgery and can offer patients VATS lobectomy and segmentectomy for both malignant and benign disease. In keeping with this, I am a strong advocate for enhanced recovery in thoracic surgery. I also specialise in the management of endobronchial disease using laser and stent insertion.

Education

I qualified from Guy's, King's and St Thomas' medical school with a Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery in 2006. During my medical degree, I also achieved an integrated BSc in Psychology.
