"Outstanding", "Brilliant"

CapitalNurse quality mark 2018-19 Health Education England reviewed our preceptorship programme in 2015 and found that all those who attended the programme rated it “outstanding” or “brilliant”. We were also awarded the CapitalNurse Preceptorship Quality Mark in October 2018.

The preceptorship programme supports your transition from student to confident practitioner. During the 18 month programme, you’ll be employed as a Band 5 nurse, take part in clinical workshops, e-learning modules, action learning and clinical competency assessments. You’ll earn accreditation from Middlesex University giving you a head start on your masters and you’ll have access to a Band 7 nurse whenever you need support or advice at work.

The programme is split into two phases. Phase one focuses on confidence and competence, we look at communication skills, safeguarding, patient safety, responsibilities for improvement as well as other core competencies. Phase two focuses on leadership and managerial skills and you’ll undertake the NHS Leadership Academy Edward Jenner Leadership programme.
