The Barkantine Birth Centre, 121 Westferry Road, London E14 8JH

The Barkantine Birth Centre on the Isle of Dogs is a ‘stand alone’ midwife-led maternity centre for pregnant women booked to have their babies within the Tower Hamlets area.

You can travel to the Barkantine Birth Centre in a number of ways including on foot, by bike or by public transport:

By bus
The following buses stop outside the centre on Westferry Road: D3 and D7.

By tube
The Barkantine Centre is approximately a 10-15 minute walk from Canary Wharf tube station which is served by the Jubilee line and the following Docklands Light Railway (DLR) stations: Crossharbour, South Quay and Canary Wharf.

By car or taxi
There is limited parking in the streets surrounding the centre. The Barkantine Centre is situated outside of London’s congestion charging zone. If you need to drive through the zone to get to hospital, please visit the Transport for London congestion charging website for advice on how to pay and possible exemptions (for example, if you are registered as disabled).

Barking Birth Centre, Barking Community Hospital Upney Lane, Barking, Essex. IG11 9LX

The Barking Birth Centre is a ‘stand-alone’ midwifery-led maternity centre for pregnant women. You can choose to give birth here if you are in good health and have had a straightforward pregnancy.

You can travel to the Barkantine Birth Centre in a number of ways including on foot, by bike or by public transport:

By bus
The number 62 bus stops outside the hospital on Upney Lane.

By tube
The Barking Birth Centre is approximately a 5 minute walk from Upney station which is served by the District line. Users coming via National Rail should alight at Barking and then take bus number 62 to Upney Lane.

By car or taxi
Free parking is available at the hospital.

Canary Wharf offices, 20 Churchill Place, London, E14 5HJ

Canary Wharf is the home of group support services at Barts Health. You can travel to Canary Wharf in a number of ways including on foot, by bike or by public transport:

By bus

D3 - Bethnal Green to Canary Wharf

D7 - Mile End to Canary Wharf

D8 - Stratford to Canary Wharf

135 - Moorfields to Canary Wharf

277 - Highbury and Islington to Canary Wharf

By train

Canary Wharf underground station (Zone 2) which is on the Jubilee line and Canary Wharf  DLR (Zone 2). When Crossrail is complete, this will provide additional rail links to this location.

By car

There are four car parks situated in Canary Wharf:

• Cabot Square Car Park: entrance on Cooks Close (use E14 4PA for sat nav)
• Canada Square Car Park: entrance on Montgomery Street (use E14 5EW for sat nav)
• Jubilee Place Car Park: entrance on Bank Street (use E14 5NY for sat nav)
• Westferry Circus Car Park: entrance on West India Avenue (use E14 4HD for sat nav)

There is a height restriction of 2.0m in all car parks and all the public car parks at Canary Wharf hold Park Mark safer parking awards.

Where staff already have an excess travel allowance in place, they will need to complete the claim form to re-assess their entitlement based on the new location to check whether it still applies. 

Barts Health Dental Hospital, Turner Street, Whitechapel, London, E1 1BB

By bus
The following buses stop close to the dental hospital on Whitechapel Road: numbers 25, 106, 205, 253 and 254 as well as night buses N25, N106 and N253.

Bus numbers 15, 115 and D3 stop close to the dental hospital on Commercial Road. Low-floor wheelchair accessible buses run on all routes serving The Royal London Hospital.

By tube
The closest tube station is Whitechapel which is on the Hammersmith and City line and the District line as well as the London Overground.

By train
Liverpool Street is the nearest National Rail station.

By car or taxi
There is no public parking at the hospital itself or on New Road so we encourage patients and visitors not to travel by car wherever this is possible. If you do need to drive there is limited metered parking available on streets around the dental hospital. Meters can be found on the following streets: Turner Street and Ashfield Street.

Drivers who are registered disabled and have a blue badge can also check where to park at on the Tower Hamlets council website. Type E1 2BA in the 'address finder' box, this is the postcode for the Dental Hospital.

Barclays cycle hire docking points are available on Commercial Road.

The Dental Hospital is located on The Royal London Hospital site.

Ground Floor, Pathology and Pharmacy Building, The Royal London Hospital, 80 Newark Street, London, E1 2ES

The Trust Headquarters are based in the Pathology and Pharmacy Building on The Royal London site, Newark Street.

You can travel to the Pathology and Pharmacy Building in a number of ways including on foot, by bike or by public transport:

There are no parking spaces at the Trust Headquarters and on-street parking is very limited in the area. There are some disabled parking spaces in the surrounding roads.
