Hayley Clark Specialist Librarian at Royal London Hospital has been recognised in the CILIP 125 List of the ‘Next Generation of Leaders’ in celebration of the 125th anniversary of CILIP's Royal Charter.

This honour acknowledges Hayley as an outstanding member of a generation of librarians and knowledge specialists who are making a significant impact and positively influencing the lives of users.

CILIP is recognised as the leading voice for the information, knowledge management, and library profession. The organisation serves as a collective platform for individuals who have a professional connection to information, knowledge, data, and libraries.

Hayley embarked on her career journey as a Library Assistant at Colchester Hospital in Essex. Upon completing her Masters in Library and Information Management, she transitioned to the role of Librarian at Colchester before eventually making the move to Barts Health last year. Hayley now works as a Specialist Librarian at Royal London Hospital.

As a Specialist Librarian, Hayley plays a crucial role in providing staff with evidence-based information to address queries spanning a broad range of topics. Hayley and her team provide staff with evidence-based information to queries across a broad range of topics through evidence searches and access to an extensive collection of resources, supporting both clinical and non-clinical staff.

Upon receiving the recognition, Hayley said:

“I am surprised but very honoured to have received this award and am looking forward to the rest of my career in librarianship.”

Hayley's achievement is truly commendable, having accomplished this recognition within the first 7 years of her career in knowledge and library services.

Sue Lacey Bryant, Chief Knowledge Officer for NHS England and Chair of CILIP shared her excitement, saying:

“I was absolutely thrilled to see you there alongside another 12 health librarians from other trusts and universities. I look forward to following your work over the years ahead.”
