We are pleased to announce that Ralph Coulbeck has been appointed substantiative CEO of Whipps Cross Hospital following his interim stint since November last year.

Ralph accepted the appointment last week after a competitive interview process that was open to both internal and external candidates.

“The past six months have been the most rewarding of my career because of the brilliant teams and people at Whipps Cross. Thank you for your amazing dedication and support and I’m really looking forward to continuing our work to make Whipps Cross a better hospital for our staff and our patients,” says Ralph.

Ralph began his career on the NHS Management Training Scheme and has worked in the NHS, parliament and government. He spent five and a half years as Director of Strategy at Barts Health before moving into his current portfolio. Before coming to Barts Health, Ralph was previously director of strategy at the NHS Trust Development Authority.

Congratulations Ralph!

Recruitment to the substantive chief executive post at Newham hospital is currently underway and the successful candidate will be announced by early July.
