Care that leads the way

Nationally recognised, globally pioneering

We’re proud to be one of the UK’s leading cancer centres, combining compassionate care with world-class expertise.

Our teams have achieved national recognition as centres of excellence for myeloma, neuro-oncology and theranostics – and continue to push the boundaries of what’s possible in cancer care.

We deliver some of the best outcomes in the country: more people with breast cancer are living longer; our ovarian cancer survival rates are the highest in England and Wales; and our teams are leading research that’s transforming treatment for bladder cancer.

Bringing faster diagnosis, advanced treatment and more personalised care

Our new breast cancer centre at St Bartholomew’s Hospital will offer specialist care for thousands of women each year from 2026.

With support from Barts Charity, the centre will bring together surgery, reconstruction, diagnostics and outpatient care under one roof — making it easier to access the right care, at the right time.

Designed to reduce delays and improve outcomes, it will offer faster diagnosis, safer surgery and fairer access to leading treatments and clinical trials. As part of our wider cancer services, it reflects our commitment to improving survival and quality of life for everyone affected by cancer.

With you for every moment

The breast cancer team made my journey much easier

“Being diagnosed with breast cancer was incredibly hard, but the care I received from everyone made it so much easier.

"From the reception to the doctors and nurses, everyone was warm, welcoming and knew exactly how to look after me. I wasn’t just a number. They remembered my name, even when I came back 18 months later. That personal touch meant so much.

"Special thanks to nurses like Betsy and Anita, who made me feel truly seen, understood and supported.”
