Andrew Hines steps down in the autumn

After seven years at Barts Health, Andrew Hines will be stepping down from his role as executive director for group development to take up the position of chief executive at Surrey and Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust (SASH).
Andrew has been a key figure in our sustained improvement over recent years. He played a central role in shaping how we work as a group, leading the development of our group operating model which is now widely shared and adopted by other trusts. He also supported our response to the Covid pandemic, and oversaw a wide-ranging portfolio including corporate development, digital and partnership working through the North East London acute provider collaborative.
Shane DeGaris, group chief executive said: "Andrew’s been instrumental in shaping how we work as a group, helping us build a model that’s more connected, more collaborative, and better for patients. Alongside that, he’s steered considerable and sustained improvements across corporate development, digital and our performance framework. We will particularly miss his calm leadership and considered insight and wish him all the best as he heads to Surrey and Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust."
Andrew’s responsibilities will be distributed across existing executive colleagues. We will confirm new arrangements in the coming weeks.
