Digital Redbook rolled out across our hospitals

We are rolling out what is known as the Digital Redbook. This is an online personal health record which facilitates parental engagement and empowers them in the management of the health and care of their child.
Part of the NHS England Digital Child Health Transformation Programme, the eRedbook will provide information to parents and carers on key clinical events and milestones, sign posts them to public health and care information, and give them the ability to add photos and details of their child’s developments.
The eRedbook is a digital version of the paper red book handed out to parents when a baby is born. At present it is an additional offer to the paper red book but in time it will replace it for those who want a digital record.
The maternity staff across all three maternity units will be signposting women to the benefits of the Digital Redbook, giving written information and encouraging them to download the ‘eRedbook App’ throughout the antenatal period. Health Visitors are also in the process of implementing the Digital Redbook so it will provide continuity of care for women and families.
