Join us for Holy Week

Holy week is the final week of Lent, a time of reflection leading up to Easter when Christians prepare to celebrate Jesus's resurrection.

Beginning with Palm Sunday, it recalls Jesus’ triumphant entry into Jerusalem. Maundy Thursday emphasizes the Last Supper and the Great Commandment or Mandate to love one another. Good Friday is a solemn remembrance of Jesus’ death on the cross. Easter Sunday is the joyful celebration of Jesus’ resurrection from the dead. Easter is the most significant Christian celebration and marks the fulfilment of God’s love through Jesus Christ.

The gift of Holy Week is here with us again. Beginning with the Palm Sunday Celebration yesterday down to the Most Three Holy Days ( Holy Thursday, Good Friday, Holy Saturday) in the life of the Church, we will be singing Hosanna right into Easter. Then our joy will be complete lacking nothing. The rejoicing crowds matched their words with actions through the deeds of spreading palm branches and clothes as Christ rode into Jerusalem. Even here in the hospital we can spread not clothes or branches, rather love, kindness and compassion.
Just like Simon of Cyrene who was enlisted to carry the Cross of Christ, we can accompany one another and support those who suffer. I wish each of you a Spirit filled Holy Week

This Holy Week, may healing find the sick,
    hope reach the hurting,
and love surround all in need. 🌿

"......Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:" (1 Corinthians chapter 15 verses 3 and 4, The Bible)
