Michael Pantlin to leave Barts Health

Michael Pantlin, group director of people, will be leaving Barts Health NHS Trust at the end of March to join Surrey Heartlands Integrated Care System as director of workforce and digital.
Alwen Williams, group chief executive, said: “During his time at Barts Health, Michael has been instrumental in creating a better place to work for our 24,000 staff, students, partners and volunteers. This has included a challenging merger, vastly improved permanent staffing levels and progress in addressing inequalities. Furthermore, our WeCare values and staff led change programme, WeImprove, has helped us move towards a more positive and caring workplace culture.
“Most recently, Michael led the move to a modern, creative and agile working space at Canary Wharf for 600 colleagues in GSS and continued his passion for a healthy workplace during the pandemic.
“On behalf of Barts Health, I’d like to thank Michael for his strong leadership and commitment he has made to Barts Health. We wish him the very best in the future.”
Michael said: “Whilst I am very sad to leave Barts Health, this opportunity enables me to work more closely with partners, especially in primary and social care, and expands my ability to pursue my interests in health and ill-health prevention.
“I am proud of the incredible team-work and tenacity shown by everyone at the Trust to make the vision for a good place to work and be cared for a reality. We have come such a long way and I have known no better team than TeamBartsHealth.
“The Trust will emerge even stronger from the pandemic, which remains cruelly impactful but has brought valuable lessons too. I will enjoy hearing of its continued success for years to come.”
