Occupational Health achieves national accreditation
Barts Health’s Occupational Health team has been reaccredited under the SEQOHS (Safe Effective Quality Occupational Health Service) standards for a further five years, recognising the high-quality care and support it provides to healthcare staff across the organisation.
Kelly McClenaghan, head of employee wellbeing service, said:
The SEQOHS accreditation is an important endorsement of the quality, integrity, and impact of our Occupational Health service. It reflects the expertise and commitment of the team in delivering safe, effective, and trusted occupational health support across the organisation. The team are immensely proud of the achievement.
This nationally recognised accreditation confirms that the service meets rigorous standards across clinical quality, safety, governance and service delivery, and continues to evolve in line with organisational priorities and measurable outcomes.
SEQOHS is the Occupational Health equivalent of the Care Quality Commission (CQC), providing independent assurance that the service is safe, effective, well-led and responsive.
Occupational Health plays a vital role in supporting staff across Barts Health, whether helping colleagues return to work, manage a health condition, or providing advice to managers.
By supporting the health and wellbeing of staff, the service also contributes to the delivery of safe, high-quality care for patients.
Achieving and maintaining SEQOHS accreditation means that staff can rely on a consistent, high-quality and confidential service, while managers receive clear, evidence-based guidance to support their teams. It also ensures the organisation continues to meet national standards for quality, safety and workforce wellbeing.
This achievement reflects the dedication and expertise of the Occupational Health team and their ongoing commitment to delivering a high-quality, person-centred service.
The team will continue to build on this success by improving digital access, strengthening user experience, and supporting Barts Health’s wider wellbeing priorities.
