With You for Every Moment

Today we are proud to launch With You for Every Moment, an ambitious, shared plan for how we will transform care over the next five years.
From diagnosis to recovery, we will provide seamless, innovative, and equitable hospital care for our patients as we build a healthier future for generations to come across east London and beyond.
We're moving towards a future that focuses on preventing ill health, embraces digital innovation, and expands our care closer to home in the community. Aligned with national NHS goals, this transformation puts patients first and is shaped by the experiences, insights and voices of the people we treat.
The strategy sets out how as a group of hospitals we will lead innovation, reduce inequalities, and transform lives by championing excellence and providing outstanding healthcare.
Turning vision into action, the strategy sets out how we will:
- Provide consistent care across our hospitals
- Establish centres of excellence
- Integrate care across north east London
- Provide care for children in the right place at the right time
- Prevent and manage long-term conditions for healthier lives
- Support families through better pregnancies and births
Shane DeGaris, group chief executive, said: “With You for Every Moment is more than just a strategy, it’s our heartfelt commitment to stand with our patients through every step of their healthcare journey. By embracing innovation, tackling inequalities, and working together across our hospitals, we’re building a future where everyone in east London and beyond can access the compassionate, high-quality care they deserve, whenever they need it.”
One way we are making this vision real is through our Operational Delivery Networks, a key part of our plan to build centres of excellence. These networks bring together teams across our hospitals to design consistent, high-quality services that work for every patient, wherever they live.
Each network has a clear objective: to manage waiting lists fairly and efficiently across our group, and to reduce variation in care.
We’re already seeing this in action across our hospitals. The orthopaedic network is the longest running and has led the way by consolidating much routine day surgery for bones and joints at the Barts Health Orthopaedic Centre in Newham. The centre is accredited by NHS England and rated among the best in the country for high clinical standards of care and fast access for patients.
To tackle unequal access to orthopaedic care across our hospitals, particularly for hips and knees, the network will soon be piloting a new system using a single point of access for GP referrals. This new system will direct patients to the quickest available appointment at a Barts Health hospital, making care faster, fairer, and more consistent.
Elsewhere across the trust gynaecology and urology networks hosted at Whipps Cross Hospital were launched in May, focused on improving access and reducing waiting times. In July, a new endoscopy network will go live, hosted at The Royal London Hospital, offering patients faster, more consistent care.
