Specialist care for inherited heart conditions
We provide expert care for adults with inherited and acquired cardiomyopathies, supporting both patients and their families.
We offer diagnosis, treatment and genetic counselling, delivered by a multidisciplinary team including consultants, genetic counsellors, clinical nurse specialists and imaging experts.
We care for patients with a range of conditions, including:
- Hypertrophic and dilated cardiomyopathy
- Arrhythmogenic right ventricular cardiomyopathy
- Restrictive and inflammatory cardiomyopathies
- Neuromuscular and metabolic heart conditions
- Family history of cardiomyopathy
We accept referrals locally and nationally, including patients transitioning into adult care.

What to expect when you visit us

What to expect
Your appointment will focus on assessing your condition and planning your care. This may include:
- Imaging and diagnostic tests (which may take 60 minutes or more and could be on a different day)
- A 45-minute appointment for new patients, or up to 30 minutes for follow-up visits
- Discussion of your care plan, including any referrals or genetic testing
- Additional assessments, either on the day or arranged afterwards
If tests are completed on the same day, your visit may take three hours or longer.
What to bring
- Recent imaging results (if completed elsewhere)
- Family history and any genetic test results (if available)
- Relevant medical records and clinic letters

We accept referrals for patients needing specialised ICC assessment. Please include:
- Referring doctor’s details
- Clinical history and family background
- Diagnostic test results (ECHO, ECG, Holter, genetic findings)
- NHS patient demographics

Research
Our team conducts research at UCL and Queen Mary University of London, advancing cardiomyopathy treatment. Patients may be invited to participate in clinical trials.
