Louise Crosby to leave Newham Hospital
After three years as director of nursing at Newham Hospital and over 25 years at Barts Health Trust, Louise Crosby is moving to be the chief nurse at Lewisham and Greenwich NHS Trust in the new year.
During her time here, Louise has spearheaded improvements in nursing across the trust, always advocating for and promoting the vital role nurses play in healthcare. She has seen the nursing team at Newham Hospital through the hardest times the NHS has ever faced, always putting her team first.
Speaking on Louise’s departure Caroline Alexander, group chief nursing officer for Barts Health NHS Trust said: “I am very proud to see Louise securing this role. She has been an outstanding nurse and leader throughout her time at Barts Health. From divisional director at The Royal London Hospital to director of nursing at St Bartholomew’s Hospital and Newham Hospital, she has been an integral part of the Barts Health family for over 25 years.
“Louise leaves behind a great legacy that she should be very proud of, one which equips her well for this exciting new opportunity. She will be greatly missed by colleagues across the Trust and we wish her all the best.”
Adam Sewell-Jones, chief executive for Newham Hospital added: “The leadership that Louise has shown during her time at Newham Hospital has been fantastic. She has grown, developed and strengthened our nursing team, all the while caring for each member of it as an individual. We will all be sad to see her go, but extremely proud of her for being appointed to this new role.”
Talking about her new role, Louise said: “I am very sad to leave Barts Health, where I’ve spent most of my career. I’m extremely grateful for the support and career opportunities I’ve had and I have enjoyed every role I’ve had during my time at the trust. I’m particularly sad to leave the Newham Hospital team and am very proud to have worked with everyone there.
“I am most proud to have worked with every single nurse at Newham Hospital and the position we are now in as a team. We have made significant improvements and I have seen so many of our nurses grow and show the value and strength of nursing – thank you so much. I will miss Barts Health and the Newham Hospital family hugely and everyone here. I hope you all stay in touch.”
The recruitment process for a replacement will begin this month.
