Bringing Better Health Technology to Our Patients

At Barts Health we’re working to improve care by making services more local and more digital, while placing greater emphasis on preventing illness. To do so, we use a wide range of technologies to help people stay healthy and independent.

That’s why we are strengthening our partnership with the Association of British HealthTech Industries (ABHI). ABHI is the UK’s leading health technology association, representing over 400 companies that provide everything from wound dressings and syringes to surgical robots and digital diagnostics.

What This Means for You

This partnership will help us:

  • Introduce new, safe technologies more quickly
  • Offer more personalised and preventative care
  • Support faster recovery and better outcomes

We’re also working with ABHI to grow a clinically-led life sciences cluster in Whitechapel, where the NHS, industry and academia will come together to develop new treatments and technologies. This will benefit patients across north east London and create thousands of local jobs.

Shane DeGaris, Group Chief Executive at Barts Health NHS Trust, said: “Our patients’ needs always come first, and the right health technology can make a real difference in supporting people to stay well or recover more quickly. That’s why it’s so important that new, safe technology becomes available to our patients as early as possible. Our partnership with ABHI helps us work more closely with the companies who develop these innovations, so we can speed up their introduction and improve care for our communities.”
