Our robotic surgery programme goes global
Our robotic surgery programme at Barts Health has gained international attention, with a report on the service appearing in more than 100 media outlets across 37 countries.
The story featured patient Ian McLeod, who became the first person in the NHS to be treated using a new surgical robot at St Bartholomew's. His experience showed how robotic-assisted surgery can help patients recover faster and benefit from less invasive treatment.
The report also highlighted how our teams are training surgeons and healthcare professionals from across the UK and around the world. By sharing our expertise, we're helping more hospitals offer robotic surgery, giving more patients access to these treatments.
