A bed.. with wheels!

bed with wheel 729 Bed with wheels

You may get a special hospital bed if you need to stay overnight. It has buttons to move up and down and it wheels to move. There is another bed next to it where a parent or carer can sleep.

Imagine you had your own bed with wheels…what would it look like? Where would you go?

The hospital family

There are lots of people in the hospital to help look after us when we are feeling unwell. These are some of the people you may meet.

Doctors – they help you to feel better while you are in the hospital. They will come round every day to visit them and talk to them and your parents about making them feel better.

Nurses nurses are on the ward and it is also their job to look after the children to make them better.

Play Workers - find lots of fun things for the children to do, organise activities and play games with the children.

Play Specialists – as well as lots of play, play specialists talk and play with children, their brothers or sisters, and mums and dads, to help them understand about being in hospital and what the doctors and nurses need to do to make them feel better.

Teachers – yes, there is a school in the hospital! If you are in the hospital for a few days you get a visit from the teacher, and maybe go to school!
