Raliat takes on new chief pharmacist position

Dr Raliat Onatade, group chief pharmacist and clinical director for medicines optimisation, has been appointed chief pharmacist at the North East London Integrated Care System.
Raliat will be joining the North East London Integrated Care System (ICS) in the spring, while maintaining her current role at Barts Health.
The North East London Integrated Care System role is the first substantive ICS chief pharmacist role across the country. As chief pharmacist, Raliat will work with partners to develop a system-wide vision for medicines optimisation and pharmacy, and will lead the medicines management teams across the clinical commissioning group and Integrated Care Board.
Commenting on her new position, Raliat said:
“I am really excited to be taking up this role, which will allow me to keep working alongside colleagues across the system to improve the care and health outcomes of people living and working in north east London. The medicines management and pharmacy teams play a vital role in preventing ill health and I look forward to the future opportunities to demonstrate this to patients, partners and colleagues.”
