Mr Michael Glynn
Consultant at The Royal London HospitalDr Michael Glynn is a Consultant in Gastroenterology, and Clinical Nutrition. He qualified from Cambridge in 1977, with FRCP in 1993 and an MD from Cambridge in 1995. He has been a Consultant at Barts Health (Royal London Hospital) since 1988. He was Clinical Director for Medical and Emergency at the Barts Health from 1999-2008.
After 41 years undertaking GI Endoscopy, he stopped endoscopy at the time of the COVID pandemic in 2020.
From 2008-13 he was Director of the NE Thames Foundation School, and from 2013-16 he was National Clinical Director for GI and Liver Diseases within NHS England
Research interests
He is no longer active in research. He is Co-Editor (with Prof Will Drake) of Hutchison’s Clinical Methods, one of the oldest and most fundamental of undergraduate medical textbooks, with authorship always from the Royal London Hospital.
