Welcoming our new junior doctors

A warm welcome to our junior doctors that started with us this week. We are excited for you to begin your training across our hospitals and be a part of Barts Health.

Alistair Chesser, Group Chief Medical Officer, said:

"We are lucky to be joined this week by more than 300 junior doctors and around 100 Trust Grade Doctors.

This is in addition to the 80 doctors who started last week and are in their first (Foundation Year 1) year of training after completing medical school. They have now completed their shadowing period and are on our wards helping to look after our patients.

Our new doctors will be welcomed by all. As well as the support in their own teams we have dedicated Directors of Medical Education and Deputy DMEs with responsibility for pastoral care on each site, as well as the Trust’s Psychological Support Service.

We wish all our new doctors every success as they progress their medical careers at #TeamBartsHealth."
