Our dear friend died last week

Debbie Jurasz

It is with great sadness that our very dear colleague and friend Debbie Dzik-Jurasz died suddenly and unexpectedly last week.

Debbie worked with us for 11 years, starting in the NHS as a student nurse in 1986. Debbie was our lead nurse in the education academy, and was widely known, respected and liked throughout the trust and with our education partners.

Debbie was passionate about her work and directly influenced the lives and careers of hundreds of people for the good, many of whom still work in our trust. She cared about people, wanting everyone to be able to be the best they could be. She will be hugely missed by us all.

Our thoughts are with everyone who is affected, and especially her children who meant so much to her.

This is desperately sad news and we will all need time to come to terms with this. If you want to talk to someone then you can access support from our chaplaincy, counselling service or our employee wellbeing service.

In due course we will plan a memorial service so that we can all say thank you to Debbie as well as say our goodbyes.

Thank you and take care.

Lois Whittaker, managing director, Education Academy, and Alistair Chesser, group chief medical officer
