Consultant Paediatrician at The Royal London and Mile End Hospitals
Dr Melody Bacon is a Consultant Paediatrician with expertise in general paediatrics, and has specialist interests in epilepsy and neurodisability. She is the Clinical Lead for the Neurodisability Service at Mile End Hospital and provides acute paediatric care at the Royal London Hospital.
She studied medicine at the University of East Anglia and completed her postgraduate training in paediatrics across London. She delivers care for children and young people across both hospital and community settings, with a focus on integrated pathways, holistic care, and reducing health inequalities.
In addition to her clinical work, Dr Bacon is an accredited instructor in Advanced Paediatric Life Support and has contributed nationally as a member of the expert panel for the management of status epilepticus. She is also actively involved in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching, supervision, and mentoring.
Her professional interests include service development, quality improvement, and improving outcomes for children with long-term conditions. She has a particular commitment to family-centred, multidisciplinary care and fostering collaborative approaches across hospital and community teams. Fluent in English and French, she brings an international perspective to her clinical practice and educational work.
