Dr Gorgoraptis is a Consultant Neurologist at Barts Health NHS Trust and the Regional Neurorehabilitation Unit (RNRU), as well as an Honorary Senior Lecturer at Queen Mary University of London.
He undertook general medical and neurology specialty training at Barts Health NHS Trust, Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust and The National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery (Queen Square) where he also completed the ‘National Treasure' Clinical Fellowship in Neurological Rehabilitation. His research led to a PhD at the UCL Institute of Neurology and a Clinical Lectureship at Imperial College London.
He has a clinical and research interest in the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of cognitive impairment following acquired brain injury due to trauma or cardiac arrest.
Dr Gorgoraptis is leading the acute neurology service at St Bartholomew's Hospital, where he offers neurology input into Cardiac, Cardiothoracic, Critical Care and Cancer services. He also carries out an outpatient clinic at that site.
