News from Newham

  1. Contrast:

It's been a big year!

2023 is a year that saw a lot happen at Newham Hospital. Below, we share some of the highlights from the year in picture, written and word form.

None of the below would be possible without the incredible hard work of everyone who works at our hospital and to each of them we say thank you – thank you for regularly going above and beyond and for always having patients at the heart of what you do.

We worked closely with our patients and partners

This year saw our people participation leads hold two world cafés, something never done before in Barts Health. And we’ve continued to work closely with local partners, including Newham Council, who funded a second round of the Well Newham Challenge.

We celebrated

There were some big milestones in 2023! The NHS turned 75, while our own hospital turned the big 4-0! We also celebrated awards and accolades, including the national accreditation of BHOC, QI success in maternity and national recognition for a nursing colleague.

We sadly lost colleagues

There were also lows in 2023. Namely, we had the tragic passing of some of our colleagues, who we miss greatly. They’ll always be part of our Newham family and we won’t forget them.

And there was more!
