Celebrating one year of My Thank You

One year ago, Barts Charity launched My Thank You at Whipps Cross Hospital with a simple goal: to give patients and families a way to share messages of appreciation with the staff who made a difference.

In the twelve months since its launch, 713 messages have been sent to over 50 different wards, departments and teams through My Thank You. That’s 713 moments of kindness, gratitude and connection.

Our My Thank You champion, Loretta Anyanwu, Antenatal Clinic Midwifery Manager on our maternity ward, has received over 20 messages so far.

Here are just a few:

“Loretta has been an absolute delight to speak to today. She has so much information and is so patient. She really goes out of her way to ensure that her patients are seen and cared for. She is a testament to your department and an example to all staff within the NHS. I am in awe that such wonderful people still exist.”

“Loretta was extremely friendly, reassuring and answered all of my questions. I feel like I am leaving more knowledgeable about my options. Thank you.”

"Loretta explains how that one small gesture from patients makes such a big impression on her and her team: “It's really uplifting, especially when you’re having a bad day. Whenever someone sees their name on that thank you list, they're so excited. It's goes to show that what you're doing matters. Staff really do appreciate it.”

Spread the word wherever you can!

With your help, we can make sure even more colleagues at Whipps Cross Hospital get those precious moments of thanks and recognition. Patients and families can leave a My Thank You message here.

Not only is My Thank You a great way to make sure Whipps Cross Hospital colleagues get the credit they deserve, but it’s also a way that we can keep our patients aware of the support that Barts Charity provides the hospital.

Tom Murtagh, Community Fundraising Manager at Barts Charity, says: “We want to say a massive thank you to everyone who’s helped to promote this project by wearing their badges, sharing leaflets and talking to patients. Your support has been crucial in making My Thank You a success. Here’s to another year of kindness and celebration!”

To order any My Thank You promotional materials for your ward or department, please contact Tom Murtagh.
