Watch again: Our webinar on changes to outpatients services

Thank you to everyone who joined the outpatient service webinar on Thursday 13 August.

Over 80 people took part in the session, facilitated by Dianne Barham, Chief Executive of Healthwatch Tower Hamlets.

This session started with an overview of outpatient services from Dr Neil Ashman, who is leading the transformation programme. Neil was joined by Helen Wensley, programme director, Dr Roberto Tamsanguan, GP clinical lead (outpatient transformation) and Dr Constance Wou, public health specialty registrar, whose work focusses on equality of access.

Neil gave an overview of outpatient services prior to the pandemic, what has changed as the NHS has adapted to the outbreak, and the vision for the service in the future.

The panel then answered questions from members of the public. These were broad and included access to key services, the safety of telephone and video appointments, patient communication and the development of tools that will mean patients can access and share information about their care in a secure manner.

Barts Health NHS Trust is undertaking a major transformation of outpatient services across its five hospitals: Newham, Mile End, St Bartholomew’s, Whipps Cross and The Royal London. We need our patients and community partners to help us develop our approach.
