James Bernard Eaton
Christain Chaplain
My role as a Christian Chaplain is to make a difference to a patient’s experience throughout the serious challenges they may face in hospital.
Through being patient led, I am here to listen and offer spiritual and pastoral care without judging. I am also here for relatives and friends as well as for our hard-working staff.
I was born in Lancashire. I have been a Barrister since 1978, specialising mainly in criminal work. I obtained an MA in Legal Practice along the way. I still hold a Practice Certificate.
I obtained a Graduate Diploma in Theology, Ministry and Mission from Durham University, studying finals at St Augustine’s College. My local church is St Peter’s-in-the-forest, Walthamstow, not far from Whipps Cross Hospital.
I am also an Associate Member of the UK Board of Healthcare Chaplains and a member of the College of Healthcare Chaplains.
I feel so privileged to be here for you, whoever you are, wherever you are from and whether you are a person of faith or not. To me, God’s love is fully inclusive. Chaplaincy knows no outsiders.
