St Bartholomew's is a specialist heart and cancer hospital and part of Barts Health NHS Trust.
It provides a number of additional services including respiratory, fertility, endocrinology and a minor injuries unit.
'Barts' is the oldest working hospital in the UK, and celebrated 900 years of providing care in 2023.
Jaspal brings with her a wealth of experience from her previous roles in the Civil Service and private sector. Most recently Jaspal was divisional director for diversity and inclusion, talent, skills and capabilities at the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy.
Jaspal is an advocate for change and sits as an independent member of the equality, diversity and inclusion committee for the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists. During her time in the Civil Service, she was the co-chair of the Race to the Top SCS Network, where her focus was to champion ethnic diversity in support of the Civil Service’s ambition to improve diversity and inclusion at its most senior levels.
