Family history for breast cancer

The family history service offers risk assessments to women who have breast or ovarian cancer in their family. This includes personal risk of developing cancer and an assessment of the family risk of carrying a genetic alteration pre-disposing to these.

The service offers screening recommendations, preventative treatments and consideration of referral to genetics department to women who live in north, central and east London.

Your appointments

At your appointment you will meet the clinical nurse specialist who will talk with you about your family and personal history.

They will perform a risk assessment and will make recommendations for screening, preventative measures and genetics.

A questionnaire will be posted to you beforehand. Please complete this and send it back to the department.
