If you could save a life… would you?
Last year alone, 32 people donated their organs after death at our hospitals , following support and guidance from staff, leading to 85 life-saving or improving transplants and 10 cornea donations. This puts us second in London for the largest contributions to organ donation.
Breaking barriers for colleagues with disabilities
According to the NHS staff survey, one in five of us working in the Barts Health group of hospitals has a disability or long-term health condition.
Caring and charging with compassion
The elderly patient in A&E held a British passport but had been living abroad and was visiting his family in the UK. Under NHS residency rules he was not eligible for free treatment, so his case was referred to our overseas visitors team.
