Advice for patients attending our hospitals during the cold weather

The vast majority of our services are operating as usual during this cold spell so if you have an appointment and have not heard from us please do attend as usual if you are able. We are very grateful to all of our staff, many of whom have gone the extra mile to make it in to work so that we continue to provide care to those who need our services.
We know lots of patients are trying to reschedule their appointments due to difficulties in travelling to our hospitals. This means our phone lines are very busy so we apologise if people are held in a telephone queue for longer than we'd like while attempting to contact our switchboards. We understand it is more difficult than usual to travel to our hospitals so would like to thank all patients who have made their way in to their planned appointments. We will do our best to rescheduled any appointments for patients who are not able to get to us and are grateful for their patience as we do this.
Due to the unusually cold weather some services have seen a high number of emergency patients, which has unfortunately meant cancelling a very small number of non-urgent appointments and operations to care for those most urgently in need. We apologise to those affected and will reschedule for as soon as possible.
We are grateful for your continued patience as the cold weather comes to an end and we strive to reschedule appointments for those who have called us to cancel due to the adverse conditions.
